what kind of difference...
between a 305 and a 350 in regards to power? I'm talking about using the same flowing heads, same cam profile, manifold, etc... What is the difference in power output only in the cubes of the motor? The reason I ask is because I already have all this work in the motor (check my sig), and I just recieved my procharger yesterday, and I am trying to decide if I should just go all out on this motor with the heads, or get a 350 and do it. I know that the 350 WILL make more power, but would it be worth it for the extra 45 cubes?
Also, on a motor that will never see above 5500 rpm, will larger valves really help out all that much?
Thanks again guys,
Matt

I was at a similar point a few years back and actually bought AFR heads to go on my 305. Upon tearing the motor down, I decided that the motor was getting tired. I wasn't about to drop money in to refreshing a 305. I went with a 350. You can get a great short block with pistons/cam for between a 1000 to 1500 bucks. You will be much happier with a 350.

that seems to be the exact situation I am in. My motor has about 165,000 on it with the stock bottom end. Although it still has perfect compression and doesn't burn any oil, that many miles makes me nervous with the supercharger getting ready to go on.
Thanks for the input

No, it's not a functional ram air hood, they are add on scoops made by Lund. It wouldn't be hard to make them functional, and I plan on giving it a try sometime this summer. If you want some more pictures of my car, check this out.

Also, thanks for the compliments, I can't get enough of them considering everyone in my area are the Honda boys :lala:

I really don't know, from my research so far it seems to be pretty much unchartered water. With my current mods I am sitting at approx. 245 hp, and am guestimating a conservative 130 hp gain. According to ATI, I should see between a 60% to 80% gain in HP. As far as the times go, I should have some in about a month or so. I just started installing it today, and it is true what everybody says about the instructions. They suck.

I am in the process of installing a Paxton SN-2000 on an 85'. It would have been pretty easy with a stock TPI. I had a superRam, and could not make it work. I installed a minram, It works but there were many things to work out. Right now im 95 percent done. I am sorting out a fuel leak and am waiting for a fitting from TPIS. Before the install I ran at 105 MPH in the quarter so I figure about 330 horse based on trap speed wieght etc. I am hoping for about 400 horse when I'm done.

105 mph, what is that, a high 12? The only problem I read about that I MIGHT have is improper fuel atomization at higher boost levels, but I am only runnning the intercooled 9# kit. Hopefully no problems!

13 flat. No tune-up. Stock GSC's with 1.9-2.0 60' times. The car had strong mid range and was a little weak up top. I didn't have enough timing advance so it kinda layed down at the end of the track. I think I could have gone high 12's easy with decent traction with a 106-107 trap. I am shooting for low 12's with the blower/miniram but I really just wan't a fast weekend car that can walk away from the new ls-1 cars. I have not driven the car in almost 3 years. I can deal with having to work on it now and again because it is not my only ride. That sucks when you have to go to work and your car gives you trouble.
