T5 for v8
HI I am looking for a t5 transmission. I don't need pedals, master/slave or I don't think I will need a drive shaft. Currently, I have a v6 t5 that the p/o put in to mate up with the sbc. W/C I would prefer but not necessary. I will pick up if it's within 200 miles otherwise I can pay for shipping if it's reasonable. A cross member, mechanical speedo and bell housing are a must. Already have clutch kit and flywheel.
thanks,
Ryan

Re: T5 for v8
I have a Non-WC T5 from a 1984 Z28, less than 100K miles. 220.00 takes it. I can meet you halfway - am in NH.
I just posted information about this tranny, based on its original tag, here:
zhttps://www.thirdgen.org/forums/engine-drivetrain-suspension-parts/652954-lots-third-gen-parts.html
Picture of it is here:
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/memb...t5-tranny.html
I don't know what you mean by cross member, but this is a full tranny, the only thing is that hanger thingy with the rubber part in the pic is not available, just the transmission itself.
PM me if interested.
Cheers,
Shepp

What would be half way? Albany? Does that need a rebuild? Is there any play to the input shaft or does it seem pretty solid still. how did she shift prior to taking it out? Would you be against shipping it?

Wow you are out in the west of the state... yeah prolly something like Albany
I can only tell you what I was told (I bought a boat load of parts when I recently bought a 1984 Z28): I don't believe it needs a rebuild, nor that it has been rebuilt, the guy I bought all this stuff from was kind of obsessed, and seemed to buy quality stuff.
The input shaft has very little play, maybe 1/32 of an inch
Neither he nor I have used the transmission - he bought it from someone who took it out of a 1984 Z28 w <100K miles on it (wrecked car apparently), so I cannot tell you how it shifted while in the original car.
Sure I can ship it, but I'd want you to set that up with some transport Co to come pack it and transport to you.
