Polished TPI intake

This intake was taken off a 1992 Camaro with an L98 350 tuned port injection motor, it was polished and the runners started to get painted, but that was never finished. I let my little cousin do the runner painting... I would recommend touching that part up... It includes the throttle body, I do have fuel rails and injectors I can throw in at an additional price. 125 OBO, open to trades, located in CT but I can do local delivery or ship.

Re: Polished TPI intake

The plenum is 90-92 style, but the throttle body is the early style, and the base has the switch for a cold start injector. Might want to check your notes. Check the runners for the CSI port, and the intake bolt angles, just to avoid confusion.

Re: Polished TPI intake

Not entirely sure if I follow. Regardless of what years the parts are from, I was told they were from a 1992, and I know all the ports line up. The idle air control valve on the throttle body lines up with a port on the plenum which lines up with a smaller tube on the runners, which goes to the lower intake. I assumed this line was for airflow when the car is idling, especially given that the fuel rail that came attached did not have a 9th injector. I’ll add pictures if that helps.

Re: Polished TPI intake

There were a lot of little changes to TPI systems between 85 and 92. Some of the parts can mix and match, others can cause problems.

Starting at the base, you have 85-86 with all 12 intake bolt holes at the same angle, 87-92 have the two center bolt holes on each side of the intake at a more vertical angle. 85-88 have an extra port in front for the Cold Start Injector switch. Then there are Corvette intake bases that have the early bolt pattern, and an EGR passage back by the distributor since Corvette heads don't have EGR ports.

There are different runners. Cars with the Cold Start Injector have a hole in the Driver's side runner where the Cold Start Injector mounts, along with a 5th tiny runner. 89-92 don't have the port drilled for the injector, or the extra runner.

Fuel rails are mostly the same, just CSI cars have a port in the rear of the Driver's rail for the Cold Start Injector. Corvette rails come out the front, F-body rails turn to the driver's side.

85-88 Plenums have different passages, relating to the 5th tiny runner. 89-92 have shorter fins, they don't come as far forward. 90-92 have a threaded mount for the MAP sensor and an extra vacuum port for the same.

In 89 GM changed the throttle arm on the throttlebody to an arched cam design, and the cable changed to wrap around the cam.

Just from the pics, you've got an 85-88 throttlebody, the base has the CSI switch, and the plenum has the provisions for the MAP sensor (90-92). Hard to see if the runners are early or late, and I can't tell if the center bolts on the intake are 85-86 style or 87-92. Wouldn't be right if I didn't tell you what I'm seeing, and you sold the parts as being for a 92, and someone else runs into problems because they're off a couple different years.

I hope it helps.
