Firebird Engine bay light harness- reman
Up for sale is an engine bay light harness from a 1988 firebird. The harness has been remanufactured in the idea that the whole thing was looked through. The problems beforehand were that the left hand turn/park lamp light socket was warped. It was replaced with a pigtail. The entire harness was rewrapped in loom and tech flex. I used tech flex in the areas that were by the firewall. I also depinned and cleaned out the c100 connector from all the funk that the factory puts in there. Don't get me wrong, there are still remnants of the stuff as it is almost impossible to clean it out completely. I would have gotten a replacement if they were offered, but unfortunately that part is rather difficult to find new unlike the engine harness half of the connector. Anyway, it is clean to the point that the large chunks of the black gunk are no longer there. As weatherstripping, i applied RTV instead, it is not messy once cured, readily available, and does a phenomenal job of weatherproofing. It comes with the lightbulbs by the way, the ones it was removed with.

Dont use RTV to seal up electrical connections. Electrical sealant is deigned to be chemically removed without damaging connectors, wires or terminals. RTV will not come out so nice so it cannot be serviced properly
I sell the C100 half if needed, new. Only part I cant get is the rear cover

thank you for your input Pocket, however I think I should elaborate I didn't put it on the actual terminals , it is on the back side of the connector, and in the holes that are not used. But for the future if I come across another harness like this and I want to do something similar to it, I will definitely get the connector from you, because cleaning it out was a pain and very messy. I will post a picture or two showing what it is that I did soon.

Hmmm, I used the big gallon of b-12 chemtool that is used for cleaning parts off of carbs, and I also used paint stripper, the aggressive stuff. It turned it into a more liquidy goo, but still a pain to remove. When I was doing the engine harness and using my old c100, I left it in chemtool for 2 weeks- mainly cause I forgot about it. It had the same result- liquidy goo, but still a pain to remove.
I decided that the next engine harness I mod, I am just going to get a new c100. At 15 bucks- why the hell not.

Will do, thanks! I find wiring interesting, many others don't, when my car was the way I got it, it just made me want to fix the little issues that these cars had from the factory- electrically speaking. That's what really got me interested in it. Haha
