That's awesome this thread is still going. I remember when it started! It only took me 8 years to be able to afford a set. Haha. Anyway, I just sent you an email Rick. Thanks!

HOLY CRAP! These things are sweet! Thanks Rick and Jim I couldn't be happier with the purchase or the quality. I appreciate all your time and help. If anyone out there wants a set of REAL heads I'll recommend you and send them your way.

Re: AFR Eliminator #1040's!
UPDATE: My 180cc AFRs (p/n 0916) have arrived! They actually arrived over a week ago, but I'm just getting around to posting on this thread.
These things are absolutely phenomenal! Thank you Rick and Jim!!! My only gripe, and i'm just nit-picking btw, is some burrs left over from machining (seen in the third photo down). Really not even worth mentioning though. They'll clean-up in a couple of minutes with a file.
The block is currently at the machine shop and the rotating assembly will need to be balanced after I get it back and check all my clearances. Hopefully I'll be listening to this thing roar by the end of the month.
For those interested in what these heads will be going on:
350 (.060 over)
Stock 3.48 stroke
SCAT 6.0" rods
KB flat top pistons (5cc reliefs)
10.4:1 Compression
Comp Cams 268xfi cam
Comp Cams 1.6 roller rockers
Edelbrock Performer RPM intake
50mm TBI w/ 90pph injectors
7427 PCM running MAF TBI code (Props to dimented24x7)

Off-topc:
Would love to see the dyno numbers on this when you get them. I'm thinking of going a similar route with the specs you have there.

Re: AFR Eliminator #1040's!
You have no idea how much I wish I had those numbers for you! The short story is the Army moved me to Hawaii (rough right?) and I ran out of time to get the truck running.
The longer version of the story is that I bought a 1987 K10 truck while I was deployed which is what the heads went into. It allegedly only needed a new engine dropped in. When I got home and started going through the truck, I found out the transmission was burned up, fuel tanks were full of rust, front right tire was locked up and wouldn't turn, and too much more to list. So with all that, getting my house ready to rent and actually moving, I ran out of time.
Right now the truck is currently sitting at my parents house waiting to be finished. I have a couple weeks of leave in March, so I'll be heading out there to hopefully get this thing running finally.

$1443 plus shipping for the 1040's. Summit wants $1648.
Email me at rhueson@yahoo.com if you want prices on AFR's. Can't see my prices being beat.

Re: AFR Eliminator #1040's!
The heads did show up and are awesome, pairing them with an Scorpion 1.6 roller rockers, AFR Titon intake manifold and Holley Sniper TB on a 327. Excited to see how it runs when I put it all together. Rick will take care of you if you are serious. He saved my at least $300 on the heads that went straight to the rockers.

Re: AFR Eliminator #1040's!
Just thought I'd add how my experience with afr heads went. Specifically the AFR 195s. I put a set on last fall, and also changed a few parts such as added a xr288hr cam, 4.10 gear, 4800 ptc 8 inch converter, victor jr intake, and Howard's roller lifters. Still a street car that I drive around here and there. I raced last Sunday and amazingly ran 10.73@125mph as a best. Now this is a all motor sbc gen1 385. I was shifting around 6000-6100 and trapped at 6200-6300rpm. I was just blown away at the mph. That's 500-550hp all day. Car weighs 3380 race weight.
So afr heads... best out of the box sbc heads there are In my opinion.

Bought a set of AFR 1034s for my 383 from Rick and the heads are beautiful. And if you want someone to trust he is the man. Accidentally sent 2 payments of 1570.00 to him ( wasn't familiar with Zelle) and he sent my money back. Thanks Rick will be contacting you for my nest LS in my 87 TA build!
