Some clarification is needed. I dont know of any throttle bodies that fit all TPI engines from 85-92. There are year breaks, 85-88 is one style and 89-92 is a different style. The change is in the way the throttle cable connects, and they are not interchangeable. If this was purchased for your 89 then it should be the 89-92 style and will not work with an 85-88 style unless the throttle cable is changed to the later style, as well.

 

There are tb's being sold on ebay that are said to have interchangable linkages so that it will fit both all styles.. I believe they come in 52 54 and 58mm

 

The Professional Products throttle bodies come with 2 throttle cable linkages. They interchange with the simple removal of one nut. Pretty simple solution in my opinion.
