LS1/T56
LS1/T56
I have an LS1 and T56 6 speed from a 2001 Camaro. I am very tempted to put a carbed intake and some ported heads on here and put it in my drag car, but I need money to finish this car and 2-3 gen I motors before summer and can't spend time and money on an expensive learning curve for stuff I am not familiar with.
LS1 does not include ECM, coils, fuel rail, TB, injectors, flywheel, starter, and belt. You could consider it a long block if you wanted to, but these are probably the first things you'd upgrade once you got it anyway. Half the work is done for you LOL! This is an 01 motor so it has the better flowing WS6 intake manifold. Ran fine.
T56 is also from the same 01 Camaro and shifted fine. It has a $1000 Textralia clutch disk/pressure plate.
That's about all I can tell you. My iron gen I motor has iron heads and my auto tranny has 2 speeds -- I'm not familiar with these things!!!
Asking $4500 obo
I'm located in 08080 South Jersey and prefer local pick up, but if you can't pick it up we can work out shipping. I want cash to finish my car, but I'll consider trades for newer dirt bikes, quads, cars etc.

he didnt mean that, but ill show your where you can get a 98 z28 with 46k for 5,500 ls1tech.com . they say that 98 where the weakest but i ran down tons of 02 ,01,00,99 ls1 cars with my 98 full weght t-tops leather loaded.theres no big preformance diifernce for any ls1 .the only ls1 thats better is the gto ls1 \corvette ls1. i can get the same combo your selling for 2,500-3,000 all day local.not trying to hijack your thread. so ill leave it at that. free bump

01 or 02 Camaro with the higher power motors for $5000 is what I would want to buy.
Like I said, make an offer.

yes in 01 15% of ls1 cars got a ls6 intake and in 02 25% did.and they where rated for 325hp instead of 310hp wow .why would anyone pay a **** load more for a $250 intake.fyi i never lost to 01 or 02 with my 98 . so there really not that differnt the intake didnt help them one bit when raceing my z28.the only reason 01 and 02 cost more is newer and less way less where made.i would have just let it go but your insulting 98,99,ands 2000 models.i have driven a ws6 ram air 02 ta and it was not one bit faster then my stock 98 z28.when they get to the track a ls1 fbody is a ls1 fbody.

Thanks for the info RaverRacerX. Hopefully he won't come back with more BS.
What would I look for to know if it's an LS6 block though?

Re: LS1/T56
casting number. ls1tech search is down but theres a few threads over there on it. basically later 2001 got ls6 blocks because they ran out of ls blocks, same with 02. a select few even got ls6 heads believe it or not. the only advantage to the ls6 block is crankcase windows on the inside of the block. cuts down windage and such i believe. the ls1 block is actually stronger but thats a moot point. the difference is negligable.

Re: LS1/T56
I think it's a stock LS1 block with 241 heads. Thanks for the good info though. You had my hopes up for a while!
