What Resistor for air bag light?
i changed out my steering wheel on the 91 firebird and i read and watched a video that said take 3 10ohm resistors like i did and jump them across to fool the car so the air bag light doesnt come on.
i read 3.346 ohms with my meter.
i found the thread were it said take 3 1ohms and piggy back them together end to end?
anyone know another trick?
well i guess i dont know how to add pictures correctly either.

2nd that, just pull the bulb from the cluster. Its a little bit of work, but while you are in there you can change the backlight and turn signal bulbs to LED at the same time, it makes such a big difference.

Access the SDM/ DERM and cut the Brown Wire at Terminal A1.
I personally add a Quick Connector/ Metri-Pack Connector, so that the circuit can easily be reconnected.

Re: What Resistor for air bag light?
Anyone of you that own a GM Vehicle from roughly 2003/ 2004 to a new Model...
The SDM is not only used for Supplemental Inflatable Restraint purposes.
It is actually a "Black Box"/ recording device.
Similar to what one would think of, for an Air Plane.
Dealer Level Employees and lower, do not have access to the recorded Data.
However Engineering and Corporate Level Employees do.
I have had to testify many times (for GM) in Court; when People have sued GM.
Most People have no idea that their Vehicle has a "Black Box"...
and they make all kinds of crazy claims!
One guy had a new (for that Year) 2007 GMC Yukon Denali.
He used it for Limo Services.
He said one morning he went to start the car in his driveway...
the Engine started, and immediately seized.
When I reviewed the SDM DATA, it said the following (note, I am not including most of the info):
Time= 3:42.13 AM
Location= (shows a geo-location, and road location) Interstate 95
MIL status= ON, Duration 4min 06sec
Oil Pres= 3.80Psi
Accelerator Pos= 100%, Duration 4min 31sec
Vehicle Velocity= 131.74 MPH
Crank Speed/ RPM= 6,600/ Limit
Duration at 6,600 RPM= 3min 36sec
Time= 3:43.14 AM
Location= (shows a geo-location, and road location) Interstate 95
MIL status= ON, Duration 4min 07sec
Oil Pres= 0.00Psi
Accelerator Pos= 100%, Duration 4min 32sec
Vehicle Velocity= 131.68 MPH
Crank Speed/ RPM= 0
Duration N/A
He also never changed the Engine Oil at 11,000+ Miles.
So was the Limo driver telling the truth?
