Re: Correct Pigtail for coolant sensor?
Can you Post an image of your actual Coolant Temperature Sensor...
as well as a view of the Terminals in the Sensor.

Re: Correct Pigtail for coolant sensor?
That's not a coolant temp sensor. CTSs have 2 wires.
Looks more like a fan switch.
I'm not sure what you're looking for; sounds like the sensor in the photo is not related in any way to what you want. If you want a CTS pigtail, easiest way to get the pigtail is to just buy a sensor that comes with one. Something maybe more like https://www.autozone.com/engine-mana...102/248732_0_0 Except, DO NOT use those Scotchlok connectors; use solder and adhesive-filled heat shrink instead.
Be assured, the color of the plastic the connector is made out of, is not an issue here. The electrons will find their way in spite of an unfamiliar one.
Where on the engine is it?

Re: Correct Pigtail for coolant sensor?
OK, need a clue. What year car is this? And what engine VIN is it?
Maybe look on RockAuto? Although things are sparse for the older cars.
RBob.

I have not even seen that Connector before!
Do you see: "P.E.D." on it anywhere?

The closest Electrical Connector that I have seen, compared to yours...
Is a Brake-Fluid Pressure-Switch for a Combination-Valve.
I believe these were produced by Bendix.

Re: Correct Pigtail for coolant sensor?
They discontinued that stoooopid "coaxial" looking connector all schmeared with that nasty black spoooge tape A LLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGG time ago. Maybe, ... early 90s. I think that's when mine failed to the bone. 92 - 94 maybe. The old stooooooopid one had been sent by then to the graveyard of forgotten memory of things we wish we could have forgotten.
It was THE DUNG. I don't know of a single one that didn't fail spectacularly, just like yours. With, I bet, the wires right behind the connector, the insulation turning to dust and crumbling off (the tape spoooooge ate it) and letting the wires short. It was ... yeah, that.
Replace the sensor AND pigtail with EXACTLY the part in my post. Same one as fits my car. (83) Put it behind you.
The 1-pin Weatherpak won't fit. It's COMPLETELY different. It's its own stoooooooooopid monkey excrement. Fuhgeddaboudit.
