Help identifying this plug

I'm not sure this ever went to anything, but of course I have to be sure. I have looked around, but cannot see anything needing a plug. Any help would be appreciated.

It is most likely for the Secondary Air Injection Diverter Valve Solenoid...

But I can't tell what the wiring colors are; and there are two different versions of that White 2-Way sealed Metri-Pack 150 Connector (Keyed differently).

Re: Help identifying this plug

So I went a little further and took some of the wire out of the loom and I discovered that there was apparently another pair of wires of the same color. I'm not sure that black is black. It has a little pink in it, but that might have been rubbed off on it from the pink wire? So I'm guessing I had that secondary air injection at one point. The engine was rebuilt from a 350, so I'm not sure if it's a leftover from that or what. Your thoughts?

Re: Help identifying this plug

Pink/blk is fused ignition. It goes to all manner of solenoids, sensors, etc., mostly concerned with the ECM one way or another.

The connector you have, and the other 2 wires that are cut, were probably for the AIR diverter valve, as vorteciroc suggested. Probably has nothing to do with "350" as such, but rather everything to do with how it was installed. If the AIR system is gone then that's probably what they were.

I strongly suggest you do something about the bare cut ends. Crimp a butt splice onto them, tape them up and secure them inside the harness, or something.

Protecting the bare wire is a very good idea. The power for those comes from the gauges fuse. if they short out to ground you won't have functioning gauges

Can someone shed a little more light into the AIR diverter valve? Where would I find mine and would I necessarily have one installed presently? I kind of know what their function is after doing a little research, but I am no automotive expert.

Interesting that you point that out because my gauges didn't work at all. The two that are bare were taped inside the loom before I removed it, but I will definitely take care of them properly. At least I know what one reason could be for the gauges not working.

Re: Help identifying this plug

The diverter valve would have been near the front of the pass side exh manifold. Would have been connected to the smog pump, and then hoses leading out from it went to the check valves on the manifolds, the line to the cat, and a vent.

If I were the guessing kind, I'd guess whoever put in whatever motor is in there, left all that out.

Might want to make sure there's a bolt in this hole.

If the right lower portion of your engine bay seems mysteriously bathed in an oil leak, that would be why. Install a SHORT bolt (3/8"-16 x maybe ½ - ¾") there, with a drop of sealer on the threads.

Replace the GAUGES fuse after fixing the wiring. Amazing sometimes how these things work... see my signature for a hint.
