Automatic Mirror DD8, Connector location

Ok, so my car has the DD8 automatic day & night mirror and it works. But it doesn't move when I shift into reverse, never did since I own the car. Today I had a little spare time and found the light green wire connector hanging around by the fuse box. No wonder it doesn't move when shifting in reverse. Some PO must have disconnected it for whatever reason. But for the life of me, I can't find its mating connector. The service manual says it it connector C305 ("Left side under instrument panel"... wow, best description I've ever read). The connector I have comes from the mirror (female) but I'm unable to locate the male end. Someone must have tucked it away. Can PLEASE someone tell me the approximate harness part where it is located normally or can provide a pic? That would be a dream. My car has the digital dash and there are a thousand wires in that area. I know, I could just run it to Pin D on my shifter but the car is in pristine condition with only 20k on the odo and I don't want to do such a hackjob. It's not how it is meant to be from factory.

Thank you!

Re: Automatic Mirror DD8, Connector location

Hopefully the wiring harnesses and routings are the same with the Firebird and Camaro, and the same year-to-year. Hopefully, the attachments will help locate what you're looking for.

From your description, you're looking for connector C305. C305 originates from connector C208.

C208 is plugged into the harness on the passenger side near the ECM; you're looking for a 15 cavity connector (see component location attachment).

Re: Automatic Mirror DD8, Connector location

Thank you for your answer, but it seems that camaro and firebird differ a lot here. The C305 in the firebird is a small black 1 cavity connector just for the light green mirror cable. Coming from S229. I've attached two screenshots from the firebird manual, you can see the difference. The component location says, C305 is located under LH side of I/P. That doesn't help. I think I have to diasassemble half of the interior to find the little connector.

Re: Automatic Mirror DD8, Connector location

Since the area where the connector you're trying to find is part of the instrument panel harness, perhaps you can start at the ignition switch - (this is a termination location of a splice/branch of the instrument panel harness) - and trace the harness' routing and hopefully you'll either find the connector C305 or see evidence of where it was (cut wire, etc.).
