What is this widget?

It's a GM Part & its number as I read it is: GM Part #: 161267611092

Car is a 1989 Camaro RS Convertible with 305 & 700-R4 & Air Conditioning, single electric fan setup if any of that makes a difference.

I get no results googling the part number and I've looked up various sensors & relay's and I can not find anything that looks like it; and it was unbolted from wherever it was attached to when I got the car. In addition, it has one broken ear on it as shown in pictures I attached to this thread.

So in addition, to wanting to know what this is so I can order another one, I'd like to know where it attaches to.

Whatever it is I don't think its defective other than being broken & not mounted wherever its supposed to be; as everything works.

thanks in advance.

Re: What is this widget?

It is the ESC module, also known as the knock filter. It listens to the sounds from the knock sensor and tries to decide whether there is knock or not (detonation).

More info then expected. The 466 number on it means that it was produced by AC Delco.

The hot stamp number of 16126761 defines this as an ANRZ coded filter. Unfortunately it is a discontinued part so I don't know which engine it is for.

The 1092 is likely a data code. If so I'd say 10th week of 1992. Which doesn't match your vehicle. Since it isn't mounted it may have been swapped out in place of the original.

Part 16052391 (HKM) is probably the correct one for your vehicle.
