Horn Blows and So Do the Auto Parts Staff
Yesterday, my Camaro would not start. It was a dead battery which had been working flawlessly since I picked it up at O'Reily Auto Parts back in March of this year. So this morning right when they open, I brought in the dead battery to the store.
The parts guy told me immediately that I had an issue with my car without even me saying anything. He said alternator, he said slow drain again. I said no many times and insisted that it was the battery. At this point I was getting pissed getting blamed and making me feel stupid like I don't know a thing about my car. He told me that he was going to charge it up and for me to come back in an hour.
Guess what, dead battery cells as in defective battery. HA!!! I was right, they were wrong. And yet, I was not smug or had an attitude like they did. I even helped the lady that was now helping me bring the heavy battery to the counter. She even told me to next time check my car first. I was ready to tell her off, but, I am the bigger person, was right, and they were wrong.
Now to any and all parts people, please ask questions first before blaming the customer for something you sold, that you know is made in huge quantities and things do fail.
