90-92 TPI ECM HELP!! 16198262 memcal #
Ok I bought this ECM off of ebay and was advertised as.....
90-92 Camaro Firebird 350 TPI Auto ECM COMPUTER AUJP 1350 91 ecu 16198262
I pop the cover off of the ECM to check the MEMCAL and it has on it ANKW....
That's not "AUJP"....
My question is, is this MEMCAL for a 90-92 F-Body 350 TPI ECM???
I can't find anything on it I searched Bing and nothing for ANKW.....
Thanks in advance!!

The 16198262 ECM is a 90 - 92 SD computer (7730). The ANKW does not show up in any BCC lookups that I could find. Are you sure it is ANKW or was the sticker changed?
ODD! The more important part of the Memcal is the knock filter and NetRes. Check the numbers on the NetRes and see if they match for a 5.7L engine. If they match for the 5.7L then the bin can be "reprogramed" to whatever you want, including AUJP. Even if the Memcal is not correct for the 5.7L, other steps can be taken to make it compatable for what you want/need. HTH!

I contacted a guy who specializes in TPI's. He sent me a list of every BCC. ANKW came from a 1989 GM car with a 2.8. Yes the ECM itself is the correct number, the MEMCAL is useless.

Best bet is to contact E-bay and file a dispute. If it were advertised as a 350 ECM/Memcal then you have a legal gripe. It will take some time but you should win, or contact the seller. He/she may have shipped the wrong part by mistake. At least give them a chance to explain.

Yeah, I already bitched at dude. He lied and said he pulled it from a running Camaro with 350 TPI I showed him a pic of the MEMCAL and I told him what that ECM was from...it's already on it's way back.

Re: 90-92 TPI ECM HELP!! 16198262 memcal #
You can get a 7730 or it's equivalent pretty cheap and there are ways around the Memcal issue as I posted before. The real mystery is the NetRes. There are threads about creating V8 units from V6 Memcals and such, but they all seem to go dead and/or never finished. The limp mode a.k.a. redundant fuel system is the piece that is missing. This may or may not be important to you but if not, you can use a V6 Memcal converted for V8 firing and use an external knock sensor setup like the TBIs use. It does take a little work on the Memcal but with V8 Memcals (350 in particular) being so rare (read that as expensive), you may just decide to go this route. HTH!
