unknown switch mounted on console
This is on an 83 camaro and when I got the car there was no cover on this switch to identify it. I know the other 2 switches are the power windows and I'm thinking this is for the hatch release or hatch motor?? There is a silver box (a relay I assume) wired about a foot from the switch which made a ticking noise before I disconnected the wires. I'd like to order another one once I know what it is.

The hatch release switch is a sliding switch. Its normally located right between the window switches. If you could post a pic, it would help. What color are the wires?

Re: unknown switch mounted on console
In 83, it was a rocker switch, not a slider. It changed a few yrs later.
It is indeed the hatch release.

Its definitely a rocker by the spring exposed and the wires are orange and brown. So it is hatch release. Thanks.
