LED side marker lights?
Ladies and gentlemen,
Check out my thread at https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/grou...ml#post5528549
I'm trying to have custom front and rear side marker lenses made for my bird. (If you are interested, you can get a set of fronts and a set of rears in any colors you want for $80.) I'm going with smoked amber for the front and smoked amber for the rear. (Attached, find a picture of the color.) I love this color and I think it matches my gold GTA wheels well.
I know that the smoked lenses will not let as much light through as the stock lenses. Thus, I would like to get a brighter bulb to compensate. Most everything I've read about LED bulbs says they are dimmer than stock. Does anyone know of a direct plug-and-play LED bulb (that does not require modification, extra resistors, etc., etc.) that is brighter than (or at least as bright as) the stock/standard bulbs?
Also, it is my undersatnding that, in order to use LEDs, I will need to purchase a flasher module that is not load-based. I think I need two flasher modules that will need to be replaced, one for the turn signal and one for the hazard lights. I have a few questions....
First, are there a seperate flashers for the right and left turn signals, or is there just one module?
Second, can I just unplug the old flasher modules and plug the new ones in (like replacing a relay), or will custom work need to be done? If the flashers are just plug and play, can someone provide me with a part number and website from which I can order them?
Third, if I buy non-load based flasher modules, will they still work with the stock/standard turn signal bulbs in my taillights and in my bumper (or will these need to be replaced with LEDs as well)?
Finally, I know some individuals have made custom LED boards that fit inside the side marker housings. Does anyone sell a kit for these? If not, would anyone be willing to make custom ones for me? If so, how much $?
Thanks for your help!
Bill
