unknown Wire
If anyone can shine some light, that would be great. Other day was under car looking around, noticed plastic around a wire was melted. Went to touch it and it just fell apart. This wire is located on the block on the passager side, between cylinder 8 & 6. Just a small black wire that screws into the side. Now the wire is just hanging there, is this of any importance

Coolant temperature sending unit for the idiot light or gauge. Typically green in color.

Pass side is the switch, the coolant sender is on the drivers side
The switch grounds and thus completes the fan relay circuit. I think the wire is black not green
