Rolling down windows kills battery?
Long time forum viewer first time poster
Beautiful night out tonight, I'm idle at a red light, roll down my windows, notice my headlights dim to a flicker and my battery meter plummets to 8, I release the window tab and it jumps back up to 13
Now I am not the most electrical of people but I am eager to learn to new ways to fix problems with my car, anything you guys can suggest I check as to cross some possibilies out by process of elimination?
Thanks a lot!!

Re: Rolling down windows kills battery?
sounds like your window motors are drawing way too many amps, indicates motors are shot. and there is a slight possibility that the current draw could be heavily corroded switches or anywhere within the circuit. does it do it with one window, both windows, or just both at the same time?

Window motors for sure on their way out.And from the high draw..those wires are probably beaten too getting hot.My old car was like this...And I tell you..changing window motors is fun and the wires inside were not corroded but turned black instead of being a nice copper color. If you have a stout battery charger..put the car on charge at 40+ amps and then try using the windows. One at a time and then both at the same time.Should be faster with good current.
