Cut outs switch mount
alright so i just bought my QTP electronic cut out exhaust, I was gonna have a rocker switch and mount it next to my hatch release, but it turns out this model has a toggle switch instead. so im not sure exactly where to mount the switch. any ideas here are welcome right now im looking at above the stereo where its available but not easy to get bumped into the on position. also where is the best place to go from the interior to engine bay on the firewall? ive seen a few things saying there is a hole by the brake master cylinder but havent taken apart the dash to check.

As far as running a wire from the engine compartment to the interior, you shouldn't have to take your dash apart. There is a grommet with wires running through it on the firewall driver's side. Just follow the wires from your relays mounted on the firewall to see where they go through the firewall. I have sent several additional wires through that grommet without any problems. All you have to do is remove the panel above your pedals, 4 screws on my car, and send the wire in FROM the engine compartment TO the interior. Keep pushing wire through until you can see it under the dash.

Re: Cut outs switch mount
It depends on where you want to mount it. I am not familiar with the Camaro interior but on my GTA, there is a small plastic section along the bottom of the dash that is not connected to it. Works great for such things. (Pics 1 and 2). You could also just hang it from the bottom of the dash as in pic 3.

Those all look like good spots. I would rather take my console apart than my dash, but that's just me. I noticed in the second pic that you have a small piece of trim right under the steering wheel but I don't know what is behind it. Possible location ? (If your knees don't hit)

If it's just a momentary switch then you can get a pretty small one at Radio Shack that does the same thing. That little red button in one of my pics is a momentary switch for my anti-theft lockout. Just a suggestion because it really is tiny.

Re: Cut outs switch mount
I would change the switch to a rocker style switch and mount it IN the glove box on the wall , hidden and out of the way and most of all clean. but I mounted mine inbetween my window switches( freind drilled the hole before I could stop him )

Re: Cut outs switch mount
I wouldnt mind the rocker so much, its a lot less likely to be bumped on, but i want it easily accessible and the rocker would be a little harder to install and if i did a rocker id probably do one that lights up just for appearance reasons

Re: Cut outs switch mount
you may be able to use a power window switch for this, it sounds like their switch is a momentary dp type

Re: Cut outs switch mount
A power window switch would work fine since it should be a DPDT switch but it still falls back to where to mount etc. I might just stick with the original toggle for now and go to a rocker once i put in another cutout.
