Need an 88 headlight control module
Anyone have a headlight control module for an 88 firebird for sale? I've seen people offer them here for $20, but I can only find them for upwards of $75 (as high as +$300). Is that what I am going to have to pay? Are they available at corporate part stores, or will I have to order one?
Please let me know and thank you all so much! This site is a life saver, or should I say firebird saver!

Awesome! I only have a vague idea of where it is, so I'm glad you know. Waiting for a Chilton manual to arrive. Keep me posted and thanks so much!

Also, if the console in the 88 is in good shape or if the hatch motor works, I might be interested in those too.

Re: Need an 88 headlight control module
If he can't get you the module, I have the one out of my 87 I can't use. Some may say they won't work (not sure the year break), but the wiring is the same between the 87 and 92 modules, so it should just plug right in...
Don't have a decent console and I'm keeping the one hatch motor I have, though.

Sorry, I may have seen one the other day when I had no idea what it was, but today there were none left.

Well, then, OP, LMK if you want the one I have... I need to clean it up a bit if you do before I can pack it up.

That's ok. Thanks so much for looking! If you come across any headlight bezels (the black plastic encasements for an 85-90) and don't need them, please let me know. Thanks!

Re: Need an 88 headlight control module
As for the module, it worked when I took the car off the road and apart back in 2010 (can't believe I've been without for 2 years now ). I have no way to test it now with no harnesses in the car, no battery, and no headlight switch. LMK if you still want it.

Re: Need an 88 headlight control module
I'll get the module cleaned up shortly and look for the headlight bezels at the same time. PM me an address/zip code so I can get shipping info.

Re: Need an 88 headlight control module
UPDATE: My headlights now work perfectly, but it wasn't the module.
A fiero guy (gasp!, I know) told me, "The module consists of two separate circuits, one for each motor. Both circuits seldom go bad, especially at the same time. If they both come up even 1 in 100 tries, it is really unlikely the module. Most of the time, when both motors won't run, the light switch is the problem, and it needs to be checked first."
I attempted to switch the module first with a loaner that I knew was working. The lights came up, went down, and then only one came up. So, I gave in and replaced the switch. Low and behold he was correct! The headlights now work perfectly!
Sounds crazy, but actually the module was easier to change out. You have to take off half of the dash to get to switch!
