Well I'm finally putting my car back together and I reinstalled the faceplate for my Pioneer that was installed by the PO. It still sounds great and plays fine but I have no digital display. I tried cleaning the contacts from the deck to the plate with no luck or change. From what I understand this stereo was specifically designed for our large opening GM cars so I don't want to replace it. Is there someone who services or repairs this type of stuff? I'm not any kind of expert on stereo stuff so any help or guidance will be appreciatted. Thanks!

Re: Pioneer DEH-P77DH

could be the display is actually dead. best thing to do would be take the whole stereo to an audio shop and have them check it out.

Do you think cold could've killed it? It was in the trunk for like 3yrs. without being used. Is it common that the LED's just die? It worked fine, I just detached the faceplate and put it in the back hatch compartment for security reasons. Thanks for the reply.

Re: Pioneer DEH-P77DH

no telling. its a possibilty that moisture got in there over the course of 3 years and corroded stuff out.

Re: Pioneer DEH-P77DH

I printed the wiring diagram from the internet, I'll check it out this weekend. The car has seen alot of work, I'm hoping its only something simple. If not its off to Ebay motors for a faceplate! Thanks.

Re: Pioneer DEH-P77DH

goo luck. i had to replace my face plate from when mine was stolen out of the car. the face plate was $100 and i paid like $200 for the stereo a few years ago....sometimes it might just be cheaper to get a new radio.
