cleaning up 92 SD harness.... need info
Im cleaning up and sorting through my swap harness, i need to know WHAT exactly i can cut out of this thing to clean it up, ive already cut out the two green plugs for the air diverter box ( i think thats what its called) goal is to cut out all ac and emissions junk, i traced the wires back to the butt connections and just cliped them out there, problem is i cant find a good list of conectors to really know what im looking at
if someone can show me the ac and emissions connectors and list the wire colors that would be awesome, i dont want to cut something if im not 100% sure what it is
TIA

IMHO you need to remove the harness from the car entirely before beginning such an endeavor. When you do remove something remove it COMPLETELY. That means all the way back to the ECM or stock splice pack. Trimming and tucking back into the wire loom is asking for trouble with the sheer number you can remove
Also, I wouldnt even consider this project without a thorough knowledge of the individual connectors and functions

Ive just never seen a few of these connectors on my 89, either theyre different of ive just missed them
Thanks for the link btw!

so after about 6 hours of work my job is done, with a couple questions lol
first off i already cut the ac switch that looked identical to this one with a green and black wire, came across this and was confused, can anyone identify it? it has a white and a black/white wire also wtf is that red one? ive never seen it before
And this one! it comes out by the drivers side injector leg, a purple wire and a yellow wire? It comes out of the same leg with a 2 pin weather pack with a light green wire and a dark green, factory taped together (by my foot)
And here is the finished product (kinda) The looming is the painless power braid i had laying around, i used god knows how many zip ties but im pretty satisfied with the results

Ac switch looking thing is your secondary fan override switch
Red is EVAP
Yel/ppl is VSS, connector near your foot is TCC

No, not really necessary with dual fans either. Doesnt work without Ac anyways. I grounds out the 2nd relay whenever it detects pressure in your AC lines
VSS and rev lights are all thats needed with T5

Rev light as in the upshift light? Where exactly is the purple and yellow supposed to connect in the engine bay? Vss is kind of an elusive topic to me since its never been.explained any better than "is senses vehicle speed" lol

Rev lights are back-up lights in your tails
VSS is on the tailshaft of your trans, Vehicle speed sensor
