headlight troubles
I have an 87 gta and of course the headlights won't come up. Had the motors checked out and they're not the problem. So anyone have some ideas?

You say you had the motors checked out. Checked out electrically? Will they go up/down by bypassing the dash switch? If so, maybe you just have a bad dash switch?

Yes I took them to somebody who rebuilds electric motors said they where great. So I would assume wiring. How would I go about by passing the switch, I mean everything else turns on just the headlights won't come up

To test the switch you would need to pull it out & see if power is going in & going out when it is supposed to.
And check the relay before you go through the hassle of pulling the switch. I should have suggested checking it first place. On the firewall in a 87, it is a dual relay. 1 box, 2 sets of inputs & outputs, so that if 1 side fails? One headlight still functions correctly.
It is just to the left of the brake booster & fairly commonly fails. Open the hood, turn the lights on & if the headlights down come up? Tap on the box. Not HIT, but a few firm taps.
You can buy a rebuilt one here:

Either of these headlight repair kits I make will solve the problem. What fails the first time on these 86-92 headlight motors is the bushings inside the gear. The bushings transfer the load from the gear to the 3-lobe hub that is staked onto the shaft that raises and lowers the headlight bucket.

I will have to agree, that would be why I posted in electrical but I will for sure check on that as soon as I get motor back in and power to everything
