vss wires on firebird?
switching out my speedometer with a digital one, ive done searches but alot of the threads ive found are for camaros, im not sure how similiar or different they are. but anyways i have an 89 formula l98 , it has the electric cluster. a little off topic but ive read that the 350 engines didnt have a vss buffer, but when i was replacing my heater core i saw a yellow box w wires goin into it had a pair of yellow and purple and a bundle of other wires next to it...would someone point me in the right direction the speedo i got from cyberdyne says connect a white wire coming frm the gauge to the vss. heres a few pictures of gutted speedo and circuit board on top of it.

Connect the white wire to the tan wire at the yellow box.

Re: vss wires on firebird?
i used this website. i connected my white wire to the "S" on my circuit film. and the speed readings were everywhere. im not sure if i have to reconnect the wire or if it needs calibrating. ill take more pictures of my settup and the yellow box tomorrow after i try calibrating. http://www.hioutput.com/tech/speedo.html
got the pictures of the box, the pins that connect to the cluster specifically pin 14, and the yellow box, w/ a circled image of a wire which i beleive might be the speedo gauge wire. i followed the "S" on circuit film down to that pin. well like i said hopefully it just needs calibrating...

Re: vss wires on firebird?
heres a picture of the gauge, i might do away with the circuit board on top of the gauge that my red wires connected to, seems like the only purpose of it was to power the needle and mechanical odometer
