Big issue, easy fix? I hope so PLEASE HELP..
I got to keep this short as im in a big rush to get to a funeral....
Basicly here are my 2 issues.
The fuel pump shuts off after 1 to 1 1/2 minits of running.
Fan stoped working but when hardwired it works.
Ok heres the background
92 Rs camaro 305 converted to carberated.
My orginal motor blew up a few months back, i got it pulled out 2 weeks ago and my new one set in place last weekend and all bolted up. When pulling the motor my "helpers" forgot to unbolt one of the bolts from the head that is used as a ground, witch riped 4 black wires from the passenger side of the wireing harness.. I found all 4 wires, and wired them to a ground on the firewall after installing the new motor. Set the timeing correctly and set the rockers n such.. well the car runs for anywhere from 1 to 3 minits then dies, you can watch in the clear fuel filter that the fuel just gets cut off. Is this a VAT issue? Or is it something worse, mind you the car ran flawlessly before the motor spun a bearing.
Fan.. well it just dosnt freaking work. I let the car get up to 200 and it never kicked on, so i shut the car off let it cool, and checked wires and tryed again, still nothing, so i cut a little nick into the fan wires and hard ran them to the battery, the fan kicked on so i took off my hard wires i ran.
I checked ALL and i do mean ALL the fuses in the car and they are ALL good.
I found the 4 wire issue when i got ready to fire off the car and terned the key on and all the dash lights lit up.. after fixing the issue the dome light lit up and the rest stayed off.. Maybe while messing with the fuses i got it pluged in tighter? I dont know but i do know i need help as the car goes to the exsost shop tomarrow afternoon and this car is my daily driver and the truck well is killin me at $90 a week in gas, compared to $45 a week in the camaro.
Please help guys, thanks.

If there4 were grounds to the block (head), then there needed to be grounds to the head. You need to at least make another ground from the head to the firewall - supposed to be a nice groundstrap between head and firewall.
Can't help you on the fuel pump, not sure how you have it wired. IF you left everything stock, it would run off the oil pressure sending unit. But that's obviously not the case.
You need to wire fuel pump so that it runs when key is on, using a relay.
Are you using the intank pump or another one?

As far as I know it stock on the fuel pump, I've had 5 people tell me vats but I did put a mecankicl oil gauge in but kept the stock oil sending unit and oil pressure wires, I can pull the new oil pressure line and hook the factory back up and see if that fixes it.

Ok wired the 4 black wires to the back of the head, then installed a new ground strap to the stock locashon, then took out my temporary wire.
The in tank fuel pump still kicks on, but after a minit or 2 the fuel stops, you can watch it in the clear inline fuel filter i have so that didnt fix it, i pluged the old oil pressure unit in the the correct wires and sat it on the firewall, and watched the fuel, it did stay in the filter longer and car ran a little longer, but then it stoped again.
So i'm gonna have the shop pull my new oil pressure gauge out and install the old unit.
The fan is still not working.. no clue whats going on there, checked every fuse i could find, and traced the wires and still nothing...

Are you listening for the fuel pump, or just watching the fuel? Can't really see the fuel moving after the air bubbles are gone - maybe it's still pumping and you just can't see it?
Like I said I don't know how you have your fuel pump wired. I have mine wired to a relay, using the OPSU wires, a ground, and a 12v+ hot-in-run. Igntiton on, hot-in-run wire gets 12v+ which energizes the coil in the grounded relay and sends battery power directly to the fuel pump using the two OPSU fuel pump wires.
If you have yours wired with the ECM (ie using the stock relay and the green/white wire from ECM to activate the relay), then it might only come on for a sec or 2 then shut off, as the ECM only primes the pump, and afterwards your ECM is not getting any ignition information so it won't make the pump run continuosly.
Get a seperate fan controller for the fan and be done with that mess, easy, clean install and doesn't use any stock wiring. Probes the radiator so no messing with fan switch in pass head. And works alot better!
