Door lock actuators
Is there a way to test the door actuators to see if they are bad? I replaced the relay and it clicks when you hit the switch, but nothing at all at either actuator.....

Re: Door lock actuators
My door locks get so gummed up on my 84 that when I hit the power lock button, I can hear the lock "popper" working, but the doors won't unlock. 95% of the time they'll lock but they won't unlock. There is a thread here that talks about a good way to clean it. I just wish I could get up the door by the door handle where all the joints are at to clean it really well. There just isn't enough room for my hands. WD40 and brake cleaner work for about 2 months then the mechanisms get gummed up again.

Re: Door lock actuators
Work your switch and with a test light watch for power and ground at the actuators.
Put one end of the test light in the plug for the actuators and use a paper clip for the clamp end of the light and place it on the other terminal. It should light both ways of the switch.
And on the suspected gummbed up actuators, My passenger door on my 91 would always take a few its of the button to fully lock and unlock. I took the panel off and everything was free. Put the panel on and still free. Put the bezel on and it acted jambed up again.
Fixed the 91's arm rest and installed them on my 89, have to change the bezel because the opening is bigger on the 91 where the arm rest bolts to, Installed the 91's bezel and it did the same thing. Acted like it was gummed up.
The sun must have warped it enough to cause a bind.

Re: Door lock actuators
Does anyone know what would cause the doors to auto-lock as soon as the engine starts? I thought they would wait till put in drive. Could it be the neutral safety switch?
I have started it and closed the door to look under the hood and locked the keys in the car. 87 IROCZ 700R
