VATS problems - symptoms
I've got a 91 Formula that I'm trying to get running. I got it as a non-runner so I've never seen it even turn over - I've tried cranking it but it does NOTHING. The key turns everything on, but when you go to start it, nothing happens, no click, no sound, nothing. Just for good measure, I did check the starter and everything appears to be hooked up correctly.
Is that a symptom of a VATS problem? I've never had to deal with a VATS issue on any of my five thirdgens that had it, so I'm kinda lost. I just don't know if I need to start there or if its even a symptom of a VATS failure.

Re: VATS problems - symptoms
Well, its not a VATS problem... The battery had enough juice to power most everything in the car, but not enough to even attempt to click the starter over. A battery with a full charge and the engine turned over.
Anyhoo - In the event I did have a problem, what are the symptoms of a VATS failure?

nothing hapens when you go to start Vats is basically a starter kill relay if it does happen its normally contacts on the key and cylinder getting dirty contact cleaner in the cylinder and key is normally a good place to start just make sure your battery is disconnected and wait a long time for it to dry
