Auto Window when Door Open/Close

Has anybody done this mod..??
I want the widow to auto roll down slightly when door opens and roll back up when it closes like on the new cars.
-I've done a search several times and found nothing.

Re: Auto Window when Door Open/Close

To do this you will need to do a few simple things, estimate how much you want to roll up/down window, then get the time it takes to reach that. Calculate that time and hold onto it, Naow is the fun part, since you are doing this you will need to jump the connection for the up and down with some sort of switch, so when you open it the switch is open and it rolls down the window, and when it closes it, it closes the window, why you need the time is for an interrupter to open the circuit @ the switch to prevent it from rolling it down too much or keep trying to roll it up. From there my friend I end my help. Sorry

An alternative method is having it relayed @ specific window points so when the window reaches point A. it flips the circuit open, and when u close the door it rolls it back up until the circuit reaches point B where it then again flips the circuit open. It sounds more complicated than it is but wiring that setup may take some patience ;P

Re: Auto Window when Door Open/Close

The down time is not the problem with timers. The up time i will use the current load value from the motor to send the cutoff signal. Simple relays to handle the switch current. It will require an additional door light switch drilled into the jam.

Just wondering if anybody has already designed this aftermarket circuit....

Re: Auto Window when Door Open/Close

you mean like with the new camaros? open the door and it cracks? close the door and then it rolls up after its shut? id think the door trigger has something to do with it, trigger closes, timer goes off, 2 seconds, and rolls up? sound about right?

It would also help with pressure equalization I like the idea but I'm don't know the exact way to go about it

I will post frequently on this to get ideas along the root. I plan on having the car on the road from its makeover by April 2011

Re: Auto Window when Door Open/Close

The DEI 530T has a Vent feature. It might be your best bet, although I think the vent is like hold down a transmitter button for a few seconds not a pin on the controller. Still you could pulse the windows switch to get the same effect. And its already got the sensors in to stop the window.

I did toss my 530 in the trash though, it would intermittently just stop working, kindof a pain when you cant move your windows then. But havent heard others complain maybe I got a bad unit off ebay.
