With no information on which type of alarm it is we can’t tell you what to do to the alarm electronics itself.
However to keep from killing the battery disconnect the power wire going to the alarm.
Now you will be able to get the car running.

Honestly I don't even know where the alarm is - just keeps going off and flashing lights every time the door gets opened. All I can see is a light on the dash. The battery reads good, but hit the key and nothing - my fear is the alarm is somehow interupting the starter circuit.

The alarm is probably behind the knee bolster.
After removing the bolster you’ll probable see a box with dimensions ~= 3” x 4” x 5”.
If you cut the power input that should disable the alarm.
You can do that, then report your findings.

Re: Squawking Bird
Thanks so much! I found the alarm box and pulled connectors until the lights stopped flashing. I was then able to actually start the car. Now I have the next problem which is a leaky brake line that needs to be fixed so I can wax this thing and put a for sale sign in the window. Thanks again for your help!
