Help with rewiring my trans am
Just like the title says I am in need of help, I am attempting to rewire my 1985 Trans Am.
So heres the story, the previous owner decided he wanted to install an alarm system that could control the windows, the rear hatch, the locks, the ignition and pretty much everything from a remote. So now the harness is all hacked to heck. So I decided why bother tearing through the 10 rolls of electrical tape holding this thing together and just bought a universal wiring harness from summit. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-890020/
Now, this is my first time rewiring a car. So I figured I would try and follow the old circuits. Now where I am stuck is that for example, my power door locks. The have a power to the each switch, 2 wires from each switch to the relay, a power to a relay and then the relay has 2 wires connecting to each unit in each door. But In the harness all it has is a power door lock wire for each side.
So any help with what to do about the relays and things of that nature would be awesome
thanks in advance for any help!

Re: Help with rewiring my trans am
Honestly, you're probably just better off getting a replacement stock dash harness. They are on ebay from time to time. That way, when something else goes wrong, you can refer to the stock wiring diagrams. I just swapped harnesses in my car, its not too bad. Also, the harness that controls the windows, and locks is totally different than the rest of the dash harness. If its not too bad, you might be able to just replace that one.

Re: Help with rewiring my trans am
well, I bought the summit harness, and i have had no problem with the rear section, the front section, and the rest of the dash shouldn't be that hard because its mainly switches and gauges, but the power windows, locks, and mirrors is where I am getting stuck.
