Has anybody ever replaced the window motor on a camaro ?
I think i did something wrong, taking the old one out, all of the sudden a spring fly's out. HUGE SPRING......don't know where it came from and don't know where it goes again,,,,,do i need that spring ???
I need help , all apart and don't know how to get back together !!!!
On my mercedes, Suburban it was easy,,,,but this is something else.

Re: WINDOW MOTOR ?????
That spring is part of your window regulator assembly and will need to be re-installed under tension to work correctly. If you cant find (search) a step by step how to guide, Haynes or Chiltons repair books cover the topic. I found the proceedue best shown in the 4th gen manual. Same thing..
Good luck

Re: WINDOW MOTOR ?????
Next time, feel around where the motor mounts to the regulator and find the rivets. One is visible, two others are behind the inside of the door. Now you can either unbolt the regulator from the door and create a major headache, or get yourself a 3/8" drill bit and drill two holes through the inside of the door that line up with the two hidden rivets. Then you can drill the rivets, replace the motor, and get at the new rivets or nuts/bolts without messing with the regulator. It makes the job much easier, and the holes don't really hurt anything.
