QUESTION ABOUT WIRE ?????

Hi, i am new and there is a wire on my 88 Camaro behind the AC compressor, that leads off of that wiring harnes that plugs in the compressor.
It is a round plug on the end with 2 leads ( its light blue ). WHAT IS THAT FOR ?

The previus owner had it hot wired with a metall pin .

I want to hook it up the correct way but can't find where it would plug into.

Also, excuse my english. LOL

Re: QUESTION ABOUT WIRE ?????

It sounds like you're describing the harness that plugs into the A/C pressure switch in the hardline running from the evaporator to the condenser. It's part of the radiator fan control system. If it's grounded, that should make the fan run anytime the key is turned to run. Look down on the passengers side frame rail and you should see the connector.

It could also be the harness that connects to the condenser, but that'd be a large round black connector with a green and black wire... Jumpering these two wires would make the A/C compressor clutch engage full time.

A pic of the plug would help, but if it's a blue weather pack, round in shape with a gray and black/white striped wires, it's the pressure switch.

Thanks, i think u are on the right track with the fan switch.
Just replaced the fan, but not done yet completley.......the fan motor was burned up.
I just bought this Camaro and work on Boats and my Suburban,,,but this is something new to me.
Thanks for the help.
I will post a pic tomorrow, maybe u could post a picture of where it goes ?LOL
PS.: its like i said , light blue and maybe the diameter of a penny with 2 wires.

Re: QUESTION ABOUT WIRE ?????

The diagrams are pretty messy in the books, and the plug is burried in a complete car... But try this...

Re: QUESTION ABOUT WIRE ?????

It plugs into the back of the a/c compressor.
