Vats and tranny problem

Hi um im new here and not sure where this will go,so if you have to move it i understand.
Anyway my problem started about three weeks ago. I had left a parking lot and my car would not take off in the overdrive position like it always has.By the way i have a 1994 Camaro LT1 with the 4l60E. I pull out and it was very tight and sluggish about moving. So i stopped when i got off on the side of the road and pulled it down in d2.I don't have d1 position. anyway it would not shift up again so i put it in third to get it to change.Never goes to 4th.And never downshifts to first. So far i have changed the tranny harness 1-2 shift solenoid and the 3-2 downshift solenoid which is the fault code its pulling. My trans guy said the tranny is in good shape and told me it is a pcm problem.I ignored and took it to the dealership which are the idiots that told me to get the harness which didn't work and then they said the 3-2 solenoid which also didn't work. I know it is pulling the 3-2 fault code cause both the dealer and tranny man said thats what it was throwing. But nothing has fixed the problem. Now i will tell you that the very day this happen to me is the day i jump started someones car off and have been told i probaly damaged my pcm. Now i have been driving the car like this in what they call limp home mode for 500 miles now.I know i only have 3rd gear unless i pull down to d2 then i have 2nd and third and no 1st or 4th.Also today i went to start my car and it would not start and my security light stayed on.I finally got it started but it cut off after a few seconds. Finally after several attemps to start it finally did and i drove home. Can anyone please shed some light on this.Is my tranny problem and now the vats system related some how. Please help me.Im going nuts without my ride being normal. And sorry for such a long discussion.

Re: Vats and tranny problem

You need to search the web for a 4th gen Camaro site - this is 3rd gen, and we don't have 4L60E transmissions so we really have no clue how to help you.

Re: Vats and tranny problem

If the trans is mechanically sound as you say then you may very well have fried the PCM.

Re: Vats and tranny problem

For the VATS issue - take a really really close look inside the ignition switch when the key is slowly inserted - see if the little spring-loaded contacts are making contact with the pellet in the key nicely and evenly.

My 1997 Z28 had an issue where the springs popped out from behind the little contacts in the switch, and you could look really close and see the contacts weren't making contact with the pellet when the key was inserted, so I just bypassed the VATS system at the time to get me going until I could get a new ignition switch.
