Wiring headlights to turn on when car turns on
Okay guys I have a plan. I want to wire my headlights to my ignition so that they turn on when I turn the car on, and turn off when I turn the car off. How can I do this?

There are companies out there that offer add-on Daytime Running Light (DRL) modules that you can wire in to vehicles that did not originally offer them. You're better off going this way, as DRL's usually do not run full strength during the day (you'd go through bulbs pretty quick if they were).

Oh I see, so you guys think getting DRL would be more efficient than using the lights I already have?

The problem with having no control over your headlights is many.
Marker lights AKA parking lights is all you need to be seen if you’re afraid to drive, and won’t make you look like a doofus the way grandpa DRL’s do.
You won’t even be able to idle and wait for someone without turning on your “I’m afraid to drive lights”.
They obscure turn signals.
Drunk drivers are attracted to the car with lights - headons - ouch.
They force bikers to run ridiculous looking lights to stand out from the grandpa crowd with their lights.
If you’re having starting problems, having the grandpa lights on will tax your battery, reducing your chances of starting.
You can’t flash your headlights as a YOU GO FIRST signal.
The “study” results in the 1970’s which fooled people to believe headlights on in the daytime reduced accidents was due to the fact the only ones with them on in the day in that era were police officers responding to a problem.
And no normal person was going to cut off a police officer.
The Koooool way of being seen (if you’re afraid to drive) is to replace your front marker lights with brighter bulbs.

If People Drove Any Slower They’d Be Going Backwards
Fog lights are not driving lights. They look doofy. Turn em off slow pokes.
How bout those nervous nellies too scared to drive without headlights on in the daytime or if there is a little rain!![lmao](https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/images/smilies/lmao.gif)
