Can anyone help out timing/idling my car? NY/NJ
Sup all,
My car is running like crap and I was told the timing was off. Anyone local know how to time and set idle on these cars? No one rents timing lights around here and they cost too damn much. I have a carbbed 350 with stock dist and carb. If not, any reccommendations of a good (but cheap) place that does it? I replaced the cap, rotor, plugs, wires. I have to put a thermostat and an O2 sensor in. Does the replacement O2 go in before or after timing is done? And would I need a new coolant temp sensor? Also, anyone know how to read codes? All the shops say they can only do 96+ and I'm an 82. I read about the jumper method, but I want to avoid accidentally frying it.
I'm in NYC.
Thanks

Hi!I need more info about what you've done before with this motor? Is it a new engine? It seems to be effectively the timing but ... ??

It's a swap to a 350 block. Just the block and pistons are changed. Everything else is stock. Oh, and it has the 350s stock manifolds. The emissions controls is not set up. The vacuum wires also need to be put in place. What else would you like to know?
EDIT:
emissions is disconnected and plugged. vacuum is connected.
