Mechanical advance dizzy for tpi
i have a 1989 Formula with a 305 tpi.
long story short it has no 02 sensor and larger injectors and the check engine light is on. I assume that it is now in limp mode and not advancing the timing because i lose power at the top end.
is there a mechanical advance / vaccume advance distributer that is non computer controled that i can bolt in or do i have to try and get the car out of limp mode ?
it will eventually be converted to carb

Re: Mechanical advance dizzy for tpi
Dont worry about it until you convert to carb
Without a tune the injectors will never let it run right
Without an O2 any EFI system will not run properly
As it sits, you'll run rich and stay in limp mode. Power will be down, efficiency will be down. Not much you can do to band-aid it without doing it right(tune is and put an O2 back in)
