Fuel sending unit wiring

OK. Here's my problem. I need to change the fuel sending unit out for another one. The problem is on the new one the wires that are inside the take for the ground and gauge are both cut. So how do I connect these things. Is there something special I use since it sits in fuel. I just want to make sure it stays solid. So it won't brake and come loose so I have to drop the tank again. Or spark and blow myself up. lol. Thanks in advance for all the help! Adam :-)
