Swap - bulkhead connector c100 problem
Hey. I am swapping a 91 TPI auto trans taken from a camaro to Firebird 88' V6 with manual trans.
I discovered (today, yeah :P ) that the bulkhead connector that goes through firewall have some high differences :P
I managed to find diagram for the connector for 90-92 years and one from 87 which I belive is the same as mine..
And after making some notes regarding what wire repin where etc, most of them were pretty simple "take it out, put it there" and some were the same on both.. but..
On the old bulkhead there were things like:
E6 - Choke Heater
F4 - Power Distributor (Computer Command Control Electronic Fuel Injection)
F5 - Multiport Fuel Injection Tuned Port Injection
G7 - Computer Command Control
And on the 90-92 bulkhead there are:
A7 - Engine: Emission controls
C7 - engine
D4 - Vehicle Speed Sensor
E4 - Vehicle Speed Sensor
E7 - Engine: Torque Conventer Clutch
G4 - Engine: Fuel Control
G8 - Starter And Charging System: Charging coolant Fans
Any ideal what should goes where?
Also I am worried about VSS and Torque Converter, is it possible that I have no wiring inside my car, in the firewall and I am having big, big problems..??
Is VSS something to do with the speedometer gauge? I did have "wire" speedo not the old linkage type on my V6.. I think :P maybe the 87 diagram is wrong for my car??
What should I do then?? Everything else is covered (well, I dont know what "headlight doors" are, but it probably doesnt matter)..
I am putting the C100 diagrams I found...

Please? I do want to run the car on a new year - good excuse for cops to say why am I driving only on headers, without any mufler or so (I didnt buy exhaust yet )
Basicly for those who dont want to read it all -
I need a way to connect 350 auto 90-92 TPI harness to a car that was 88 V6 manual.. :P

Nice engine there... I just pulled out the wires I didn't need on my swap. In your case you need them, along with the new cluster (91 tpi) that needs to go into your car (vss is speed = electric) I would cut and figure out a way to get your new connector installed but make sure you seal it up so it doesn't rust. I used silicone on some of my holes. BUT you can use the unneeded plugs to fill in for your needed ones.. if you get what I mean. good luck

Yeah, but basicly where those seven wires that I dont know should go?? Beside those 7 the rest is just a matter of repining, so no problem there... I hoped that some would go to those 4 that I dont know what are from the old bulkhead connector..
I belive I had electric speedo, becouse I dont recall any hard line, but there is no vss on the 87 diagram..? Then again my car is 88..

Did you get the emissions hooked up alright? The TPI, I believe needs to know some information.
Your vss runs through the firewall right? Did you grab the computer from that tpi car?
Sorry didn't answer your first question, (if you have a 700r4) you need the torque converter wired up, that goes to your computer inside the car, tells it when to lock up etc.
Hopefully someone that has done a tpi swap can chime in also.... I am not sure on what the computer needs to run (on slime mode)

Yeah, I have a computer with the engine and computer-wiring harness is ok, the only problems is the bulkhead connector at the firewall which according to diagrams also ahve the VSS (probably to the speedo) and torque converter..
All the vacumms are fine, and pretty simple since i trashed all the AIR, EGR and other not important stuff

lol oh ok. yea the vss and torque convertor (I believe) runs through that connector into the interior. You can go through the firewall another way... I used the cruise control hole right below the steering column hole, just used another grommet. I can get a picture if you want me too.

Where does torque converter goes inside the car?
Also what is and where goes C7 - engine and G8 - Starter And Charging System: Charging coolant Fans? Is G8 only for fans or thoes it do anything with.. well.. starter?
