New headlight switch pigtail only 5 wires?
The headlights on my 85 IROC stared to act up after driving about 45 minutes. They would blink and flash on their own. I tapped the side of the dash where the switch is and they would go out completly, just the headlights, another tap and they would come back on. I pulled the headlight swich and the wiring connector is fried. I ordered a new one (PT181) and bought a new headlight switch. The factory wiring harnass in the car has 7 wires, the new pigtail has only 5. From the numbers on the switch, pin 3 and the connector for the dimmer resistor seem to be the missing wires.
Has anyone ran into this? Did I get the wrong plug, or do you just delete the other wires?
Thanks!

Re: New headlight switch pigtail only 5 wires?
Wow, dont everyone answer all at once.
It looks like both the headlight switch and pigtail are made to fit everything fron 68-89. This may explain the missing wires. I bought some GM terminal ends at the local parts store and will just make the other wires needed.
