do the vats bypass, there are 15 different keys with 15 different resistor pellets, you can find the wiring on the bottom of the steering column, plug one resistor in and try to start the car, if it dosent work and the vats light pops up, no good, disconnect the battery and hook it back up, install the next resistor, try again untill you get the correct resistor, when you do cut the wiring and solder the resistor into place and the vats is done forever no more problems with the pellet being gone, when it gets warmer im going to bypass mine.

i know my key is a number 8 which is i think 2365 or something like that, the resistors for the vats will alow 500 to the good or 500 to the bad so for example the key code 14 will work for 10030,9530,9030 or anything between 10030-9030. hope this helps you can find the correct wiring colors and connection by using the search, there are many people here who will help you get running again, btw ive also heard that the vats usually ends up toasting itself sooner or later anyways just for you it would be a problem later down the road solved already.

correction scratch that 500 +/- 10% of the resistance value is correct measurement of the vats resistance tolerence.
