rear defogger issue

Engine: 3.1 V6,5.0 tpi
Transmission: AUTOMATIC, t5
Axle/Gears: one tire fire ,posi disc
rear defogger issue

i recently replaced my rear defogger switch and now when i push it every thing goes dim and the engine seems like it wants to shut off does anybody know whats going on thanks

Axle/Gears: EATON POSI 4.56
IN A FOG


You have a short on the output side of the defroster switch.
Divide and conquer.
Unplug the push-on terminals at the rear window.
If your problem goes away your window tracings are shorting.
If your the problem does not go away trace the leads that go back to the defroster switch till you find where a lead is touching a ground.
