Harness/CPU Removal

I am pretty sure this has been beaten to death before but I did a quick search and did not find any real deffinative answers.

A few years ago I bought an 85 Z without an engine. I had a built up carbed 355 which I threw in. From the original motor harness, I am only using a few of the original wires. Positive lead off of the battery to the starter, wires from the starter to ?. Two wires that clip into the distributor. I have replaced the need for having any sensors. The water temp and oil pressure gages are now mechanical. The RPM and speed comes from the mechanical on the transmission. The in-tank elect. fuel pump has been replaced with a mechanical fuel pump. I am not running any A/C, heat or emissions equipment.

So my questions are:
Where do the wires from the starter go?
The two wires to the distributor: Are they just a power and ground?
If I re-run the wires in the above questions, can I just scrap the CPU/ engine harness and have all the body electrical still work?

Sorry if these type questions have been over-posted. Also, if anyone knows of a guide on this type issue please feel free to share!

Thanks

Re: Harness/CPU Removal

The chassis and fuel injection harness are meshed together so you will need to disect it little by little to do it with no head aches. the wires on your starter go to the alt and the bluk head connector on the fire wall. The wires on the dist are ignition power and tach sig/coil trig.
