help me with a better understanding of vats
So I have been doing much reading on this system of vats since I decided to undertake the tbi-tpi swap in my 91 Camaro. from what i have read my understanding is that the vats module reads the resistance of the key and determines if the ecm recieves the ok go time command. My question now is this; is there a specific vats module for each ecm or is it that the one module can talk to all ecms?

As long as both use the passkey I system, yes, they can talk. Only after switching to the passkey II system does the module operate at a 50Hz cycle, rather then the 30Hz that the passkey I uses.

Yeap, they switched to II in 1993. Same goes for the Firebirds and TA's.
