MSD-6AL REV Limiter kicking in early
I just put my car on a dyno and confirmed that my engine will not rev past 5950 due to the MSD rev limiter. At 5950 it fell flat on it's face. I had a 6200RPM chip installed and planned to spin it to 6000 RPM. The cam should be good to 6000 then fall off. I don't think it's the chip but rather the 6AL box because, during my "on street" WOT runs with a 6,000 chip installed I could never spin it past 5950 either, as recorded on TunerPro. Does anyone know of a fix for the MSD-6AL rev limiter so it will work like it should? Thanks in advance.

Re: MSD-6AL REV Limiter kicking in early
I've tried the 6,000 and the 6200 resistors with the same results, 5950 and no more. I guess I can try others, I have all the resistors that came with the 6000+ rpm chipset. Makes me wonder whats going to happen if I swap in a larger cam, hmm....

I'd give MSD tech guys a call. I had a similar problem with the one in my 95 formula, it turned out to by a bad ground in the box chassis.
