non stoping wipers and vacume thingy

well i yanked the motor outa my 86 t/a and droped it in my 82. i started wireing everything up and go in to see if all the lights and other electronics worked since the car had sat since 02 well to my surprise everything works even the headlight motors one is a lil slugish though but anyway i fliped the wipers on and they woulnt cut off they will just stay on the slowest setting and i dont know whatbwould cause this of how to fix it. another thing not so much electrical related i guess but next to the wiper motor is a cylinder looking object with vacume hoses coming out of it i have no idea what it is or what it was connected to when i pulled the other motor outa it. my 86 doesnt have this and i dont remeber seeing it on any of the other 3rdgens ive worked on if anyone has and idea what it is let me know please thanks

next to your wiper motor would be the vacuum reservoir for the vent/door control in the hvac system. not sure about the wiper motor unless maybe there is a bad or missing ground.

Re: non stoping wipers and vacume thingy

no problem, basically if you intend to keep the heater and ac system, you will need to have the vacuum res hooked up or only the defroster vents will operate. on the res should be 2 ports, one will connect to the carb on manifold vac. the other line will go into the ac harness going through the firewall. there will also be a one way valve on this line either in the engine bay, or under the dash(don't remember) hope this helps
