Burn off relay?
So I have to do a presentation on the fuel injection system in my 88 trans am next week and I'm looking at the wiring diagram and I've noticed this burn out relay. What exactly does this relay do? I've searched the forums and I havn't really found a clear explanation as to what it is for?

Re: Burn off relay?
This relay sends voltage to the hot wire in the middle of the MAF. If the relay fails the car is almost impossible to start. when the car is shut off, The relay comes on for a few seconds to burn off all off the accumulation of substances on the mass air wire. As stated, the relay fails and the car can no longer clean the mass air. Eventualy the buildup takes it's toll, making the car harder to start. Most of the time once the car starts it run's relatively rough also due to the now innacurate mass air. That's about it.
Cheers!!!
