Electric Cut-out Issue.

Ok, I purchased a Race Ready Performance Electric cut-out yesterday and I have it wired up correctly according to the instructions and it's centered on the outlet, I don't understand why it will not work? It's grounded well, I have it on a 12V source thats only hot when the key is on, and I have the fuse 3 amp in it. What am I missing?

Re: Electric Cut-out Issue.

Yea I do, I got further into it today on my lunch break, I couldn't see the motor working last night but I did today when I took it off the pipe. It only moves a 1/16" so I'm guessing the motor isn't any good. I don't think that Race Ready will warranty it since I didn't have it installed by a garage. So I'll see if they have a parts list and I can salvage something.

I have a McCord Power Plate cutout on my Z28 Camaro and a Quick Time Performance cutout on my Trans Am. I've never had any problems with the McCord....the the Quick Time has given me nothing but problems. First thing to try is to shoot directly 12 volts to your cutout to make sure it's working correctly. When I installed my Quick Time on my Trans Am....the motor was hitting the bottom of the floor pan..I guess causing it to bind up....make sure the motor isn't hitting the floor pan. Also, I have to sometimes hit the motor on the Quick Time in order for it to work....

Re: Electric Cut-out Issue.

I know it's not hitting on the floor pan because it's on my 91 Silverado. The flange barely moves at all. I was going to go with a QTP but their customer service is very rude and senseless. Kinda glad they didnt send it now from what you told me about yours. If this thing doesn't work, I'm looking at either DMH or McCord.
