Vats Bypass (yes i searched....)

Ok I lost my keys and in some freak occurance GM does not have my vats code on file. Is there any way to disable or bypass vats without knowing the code?

There were only 15 different resistances. It'll take some time, but you can pick up the different resistors. Also, a local locksmith might have a VATS tool. It has all the resistances built in, and it just runs them until it finds the right one.

go to a car audio shop that deals witrh DEI products. They make a resistor pack called a vatpack that includes all of the 15 different resistances. you can unplug the vat wires from the key cylinder and loop them across the plug going to the ECM side. you can try them till it starts but it may take a while as the wrong resistance will disable the fuel pump for a little while.

Re: Vats Bypass (yes i searched....)

That's the VATS tool I was talking about, but glad to know the further detail. Also, fixing VATS would be much preferred to disabling or bypassing it. Would you rather put in a little work now, and every now and then down the road replacing your ignition switch, or would you rather have the car get stolen one day? If I had VATS my car would have just had a broken column instead of the extra damage.

if you have access to a chip burner or if you are using an emulator go into the bin file and just turn off the vatts and you will never have that problem again
