Converting a Camaro 90-92 cluster from MPH to KM/H
I've been looking for a '90-'92 240km/h speedometer for a long while without any luck. What I'm considering doing, is buying a 145 MPH cluster and making any required changes to have the output in kilometers. I could have a factory-matching overlay made, to convert the speedometer, but what about the odometer? I've read posts of people asking if it's possible to swap the odometer, to retain their correct mileage, but I'm not certain if the actual odometer unit is "set up" for either MPH or KM/H.
Would anyone shed some light on this?

You'd need to alter the odometer mechanism. A speedometer shop can do it for you, but it might not be cheap.

Thanks for the head's up! I looked into specifically having the odometer altered, and between the cost of that and the fit & finish of an overlay, decided to pan the conversion idea and keep up my search.

I've never seen the back of a 90-92 speedometer, but it's possible you might be able to change out the odometer yourself.

Having that speedometer is a nice enough detail that I'd be willing to try it myself... I guess the big question is "how factory looking can an overlay really look?" Part of the problem is how subjective that is... I'll try to find posts by people who are entering their cars in shows.
