Anybody Mount their MSD Box inside the center console?

I was thinking of mounting my MSD Digital 6 ignition box in the center console with a fan blowing air on it. Has anybody done this? From the looks of it I'm going to have to notch the plastic to get the box to fit properly. Any pictures would be appreciated.

No never have...just wonder why. I looked at your photos and can understand you want a clean bay. I mounted a MSD under dash on a 29 A rod for that reason and I didn't care about the RF. Really you should keep the wiring short as possible, bear in mind that the MSD will generate a bit of RF and plastic is a poor shield.

Put mine inside the fender next to the battery. You can't see the box at all, and the wiring runs along side to battery wires, so you can't see that either.

Speaking of RF does solid grounds at both the box and the coil help matters at all? I'd like to keep the box cool and as free from vibration as possible.

Absolutely....grounding is very important, I aways ground the case direct to bat-strap chassis lug with 14 gauge. The MSD can handle a fair degree of heat and vibration...they survive Hotrods which are quite firm. Dirt, moisture are to be avoided. Keep it vertically away from a heat source, some air movement over the case is desired, a fan only if confined and no other air movement available...inside the console box without venting would only contain the heat even with a fan, if you vent the console box you would most likely allow dust-dirt to enter past the trany. My 3G has its Crane 6Hi fitted to engine bay fender (clean bay was not necessary). The under dash sounds good but I would not place it close to ECM if its still there.
My Crane box sits just in front of the heater fan on fender in this photo.

Yes, Radio Freq or Radio noise normally comes with the high energy ignitions. If the car electronics work OK then your only other concern can be that expensive audio system or the neighbors tv.

Can I see some pics of the location next to the battery? My car has AC and I just can't find a place to mount it. Or how about pics of under the dash?

Thanks, mike
